I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord. – Psalm 121:1-2
Call for Help
When something unexpected happens, who do you think of calling first? On a practical level, if you have car trouble, you would call for auto assistance. If a faucet is dripping, you might schedule a plumber. However, when issues are less tangible, who do you turn to first? Perhaps you are inclined to call a particular friend or loved one to talk over the situation and get their input. The psalmist stated, “I called on the Lord, and He answered me“ (Psalm 118:5). David also wrote, “I sought the Lord and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears“ (Psalm 34:4). This week, as national and global events unfold, speak to the Lord first. He is your Maker, your Source, and the best Helper you could ever call.
